Sendung 08: Tracking down the Culprit …

15.06.2021

MON, 21st June 2021, 4 pm.: Listen to the recordings of the 8th Art4Science-conversation stroll with the molecular biologist Eleni and the artist Ruth. Some of Ruth’s paintings of molecular processes and micro organisms were shown and described. On the aquarell papers, cells looked like little beings performing molecular party life at midnight. What’s about their behaviour, are the good or bad? Step by step, an inspiring discussion resulted. Furthermore, Eleni and Ruth talked about their common starting point and about future perpectives of art & science co-operations, at an international level too, and about the role that art universities and research institutes can play in order to share innovative and colaborative concepts.

-> Listen to the overvoice version in German

Eleni Tomazou is a scientist at the St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute (CCRI), Ruth Mateus-Berr is a artist and professor at the Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna. The project Art4Science enables the scientists of St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute to develop a specific method of collaboration, by working with artists of different fields. In order to present scientific processes and research works in an innovative way, the artists will create music pieces, visual works of art and fashion collections as well. To provide the public with first-hand information, the meetings will be documented in radio shows and podcast recordings.

The broadcasting was recorded and produced by Evelyn Blumenau and Walter Kreuz.
