22. From the Days Before

It’s funny, I came to enjoy Abba and the Jackson 5 since I’ve grown older, I remember „hating“ the 70’s, as only a child can, with a passion and without a real reason. This show was originally titled „Music from when Dallas was on“, but it was too long, so it’s just from before; before being aware, before the 1% protests and all the lives that matter. It ain’t good or bad it’s just other times, outside and still somehow there, in the background, haunting and constantly reminding of how things could be; and of the fact that, even if things don’t turn out the way we expect them to, it might still be okay, in a whole other way.

You can’t talk 70’s without Abba or Michael Jackson, T-Rex and Boney M. Queen is just lovely and so is, I think, Minnie Riperton with her sweet declaration, it’s the kind of song that makes me wish I lived the 70’s. Hot Chocolate was on one of the first VCR tapes we (as a family) owned, Rod Stewart is featured in every second PC game and Elton John rocks my soul whichever the decade.
