Die amerikanische Soul-Sängerin Anne Peebles hatte 1973 mit “I Can’t Stand the Rain” den größten Erfolg ihrer Karriere. Die bekannteste Version ds Liedes dürfte wohl jene von Tina Turner aus ihrem Album “Private Dancer” aus dem Jahre 1984 sein. Der zum Evergreen gewordene Song wurde darüber hinaus jedoch mehrfach erfolgreich gecovert.
