Through the ears of a child: new music re-listened
Sometimes children’s words surprise you. Their reaction is puzzling. The first time they see fireworks, the first time they see a new animal, their reaction comes from a completely different perspective. What if we could reset our brains and watch an old famous movie for the first time? Look at a painting for the first time again or listen to a sound as if it didn’t have a history in our world of perception? We cannot do it, obviously, but we get inspired by a child’s reaction. This is what we’ll do in this podcast. We will listen to contemporary music written after year 2000 and performed by Schallfeld Ensemble and hear some comments of a child listening to them without prejudices. We will also be able to listen to the same music again and see if our perspective tilted, if only by an inch.
