That Evening Football Show – Episode 35
We welcome Dave back to this episode and in a way it was perfect timing. Two days after our last show, Jürgen Klopp announced that he was stepping down as Liverpool manager. Having had some time to process this news, Dave provided us with his reaction, coupled with their recent victory against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup Final.
Following on that, we assessed whether the Chelsea players are indeed „Billion Pound Bottlejobs“, as Gary Neville put it.
As we head closer to the end of the season, the inevitable managerial-merry-go-around rumours are picking up. Xabi Alonso being coined as the next best thing, Thomas Tuchel available again, up and coming English managers like Gary O’Neil showing potential. It seems as though it is not just Liverpool and Bayern Munich who are looking for a replacement, but Man United too! Ricky gave us some insights into what he thinks will happen at Old Trafford come June.
We touched briefly on whether Man United’s standout player, Kobbie Mainoo, could be part of the England squad heading to Germany this summer. However, it is still too early to make any assumption with a handful of games to go until then.
Hosted by Ricky Wong, Ben Grounds, and David Naylor
