Ep. 1: Starting our journey

In 1994, a genocide against the Tutsi took place in a small, landlocked African country: Rwanda. But what actually happened in 1994? How did the Genocide against the Tutsi come about, how was the international community involved and how are the events connected to colonial histories?
And why are we, five students in Vienna, speaking about it? What does the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi have to do with our collective memory and global history? All of these questions are going to be addressed in our first episode. For all curious minds!
