Ein Schallplattenverkäufer, ein Gospelsänger und ein Radiomoderator gründen 1945 „Bullit Records“ in Nashville Tenn. Keiner von ihnen wusste damals wie man eine Platte überhaupt veröffentlicht. Der Radio Moderator war Jim Bullit. Er war ein Fan von sogenannter „Pop-ballads“ und weil er sich zufällig auch ein klein wenig auskannte in der völlig neuen regionalen Hillbillyzene in Nashville hat er damals zwischen 1945 und 53 auch viele hunderte Hillbillyartiesten aufgenommen im Radiostudio WSM in Nashville und im alten Castle Studio. Diese ur-alten Hillbilly Aufnahmen auf Bullit Records war ein wichtiger Schritt Richtung Rockabilly von 1954,55.

Bullit Records were formed in 1945 by a record wholesaler, a gospelsinger and a radioannouncer. None of them knew much about making records. The radio announcer was Jim Bullet. He ran the label and admits a liking for pop ballads. Because he knew a little bit about music, he recorded hundreds of artists between 1946 and 1953 in studio C ar WSM radio and in the old Castle studio, Nashville´s first, in the hope that he would find some hits. He did. In the process, he recorded some of the worst country, rhythm and blues and pop music of the era, but also a lot of the best. Among the best in country were these country boogie hillbillies in 60 min. „Rocking 50´s „broadcasting show .
