Interview: Performative Documentation Center St. Pölten
ICfDaRoSitCotCCPaS – Performative Documentation Center @ Löwinnehof* St. Pölten
ICfDaRoSitCotCCPaS is short for “International Center for Documentation and Research of Subcultures in the Context of the Contemporary Culture Politics and Society“. The project was made possible as part of the “STARTroomtransformations” series by KulturhauptSTART, in cooperation with Tangente St. Pölten. The performative interventions during the event days play with the codes of high culture and question the heteronormative structures of the cultural landscape. The scientific office and the room installations are open to visitors. In the spatial installation “Backdoors”, Kike Chueca Simon copies codes of large art institutions and questions the gap between subculture and high culture. The participatory installation “Collective Windows” by Lia Quirina invites collectives and visitors to enter into dialog and share thoughts on a collectively conceived utopia. The international research team consists of Lia Quirina (STP), Kike Chueca Simon (BCN), Viola Voldrich (VIE, CZE), Ludwig Merza (VIE, Krumbach) und Anna Netouschek (VIE).
Lia, Kike, Anna and their friend DJ Platzhirsch joined us in the CR94.4 studio to talk about their installations and performance art, which they implement with a witty humor and a great understanding of contemporary subculture.
