Doc and Dawg

26.09.2018

Most of the music played during this broadcast of Bluegrass Junction are songs from the album „Doc & Dawg“, which was recorded in 1997 by American folk music artist Doc Watson and mandolinist David Grisman.
The songs were mostly recorded at Grisman’s home, taken from numerous informal recording sessions spanning many years. In the liner notes, Grisman had this to say about the album: „These tapes document some wonderful ‚after-dinner‘ sessions at my home during several of Doc’s visits. Tunes were selected spontaneously and more often than not, played only once. We’re pleased to share some of these moments.“

This program was made possible by the generous donations from our sponsor, Kuto’s Deli, home of the famous Cleveland Reuben sandwich and Cerise cola. It might not be the best meal you’ve ever had, but it sure does taste like home. Thank you, Jon, we’re very Grateful.

Cerise was brushing her long hair gently down
It was the afternoon of carnival as she brushes it gently down
Reuben was strumming his painted mandolin
It was inlaid with a pretty face in jade played in the carnival parade

Hankering for a taste of home? Then head on down to Kuto’s Deli and tell ‚em Bluegrass Junction sent you!
