We recognize the threats to both the ‚inner limits‘ of basic human needs and the ‚outer limits‘ of the planet’s physical resources. Seit mehreren Generationen sind die Befunde bekannt: der Ressourcenverbrauch durch die industrielle Produktion überschreitet die planetaren Grenzen und bedroht die Lebensgrundlagen der Menschheit, besonders im globalen Süden. Während der Ressourcenverbrauch exponentiell wächst und möglicherweise bereits irreparable Schäden an Ökosystemen anrichtet, beginnt der Umbau dieser industriellen Lebensweise zu langsam. The findings have been known for several generations: resource consumption through industrial production is exceeding planetary boundaries and threatening the livelihoods of humanity, especially in the Global South. While resource consumption is growing exponentially and may already be causing irreparable damage to ecosystems, the transformation of this industrial way of life is starting too slowly.
